No problems, they worked perfectly. Pros: been ordering these cards for customers No issues at all. Pros: Adds 2 serial and 1 parallel port to your computer. Very useful if you would like to connect older hardware to a new computer that does not have these ports. Cons: The product is supposed to work with Vista 64bit. Confirmed this also on StarTech's website.
Are installing the product Windows recognizes the hardware and installs drivers. The ports show in Device Manager as working properly. However after a reboot Windows won't start up anymore and stop with a blue screen. Only way to resolve this was to remove the hardware again. Overall Review: If you need multiple parallel and serial ports this is the card to get. More convenient than a USB to serial adapter cable.
Pros: Nice card with two serial ports and a parallel port - great for modems, legacy hardware, and hobbyist projects. Can supply 0, 5, or 12V on pin 9 of the serial ports each can be set separately.
One serial port and the parallel port are on ribbon cables and can go into a cutout or a low-profile case. Startech said it may be incompatible with my chipset and recommended switching to the PEX1S1P instead. Cons: I have more than 10 of these in my lab, and they are all seem to work at first, yet many fail after time. The com ports just stop responding and require a reboot of the OS to get them working again. Pros: Plugged it into a Win7 64bit machine, turned it on and it installed itself.
