So who knows, I think it's worth giving this a push. The Canon rep I spoke to was very interested in hearing about the suggestion.. However, I think you're flogging a dead horse if you think Canon will deliver the firmware for the original 5D. Well, I have no expectations, holding my breath nor am I getting my hopes up.. I've been surprised before, like with firmware 1. So who knows, can't hurt to try right?

I know what you mean It would auto select the lowest ISO for the light conditions and a hand-holdable shutter speed to correspond with at least the focal length used. That would get my attention!
