N-trig tx2 windows 7

Sadly, I'm still getting random reboots and blue screens, although the new Windows bluescreen is much more friendly than the old one, so I think I still do have a hardware problem of some sort. My plan has been to buy a new tablet later this year for Windows 8 anyway I can work without multi touch aswell for the time beeing, select with Touch is working aswell now!

Onedutch, I had exactly the same problem with the zooming in Metro IE I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to restore it to it's correct size, hence the test of the Refresh Your PC function, which sorted it. Thanks for the tip MattJM, I'd rather not go down that extreme route again just to restore a botched zoom! Regarding that Lenovo version, it appears to be a version of the N-Trig software created well before the later version provided to us by dell.

They have 3. Even so, I have tried using their version of the drivers after reverting the firmware installed on my N-Trig device to something of around the same date and the N-Trig Multitouch HID Device still has issues. Is there anyone here who owns such a Lenovo and can tell us wether or not this version of the drivers works for them? I would suspect not given what I've just experienced? Hi xnederlandx. I own Lenovo Thinkpad Ts with the similar N-trig touchscreen and it behaves the same as described above.

I've tried various drivers from lenovo. Another happier XT2 user. Just installing the Vista driver from n-trig site worked a charm. It installed the Vista firmware after second attempt. I can drag, click and pinch. Metro-IE does its finny shrink. Sometimes double-tapping with two fingers blacks the screen. I have a Lenovo Ts and as everyone else is saying it does have to do with the firmware that is installed.

If you download the Vista drivers from the n-trig site and run the normal installer you should see it update the firmware before it installs any of the drivers. After running the normal installer i had to reboot twice, once for the firmware and once for the drivers single touch works fine, still no multi-touch though. When going to properties of my computer it shows that I only have a singe touch capable device.

Tapped not work. Only single touch. This is what I did:. I suspect we won't be able to get Multi-touch to work without an update from either N-Trig or Microsoft either the drivers get updates or whatever happened in the Consumer Preview gets undone - I've sent an email to N-Trig via their contact page I haven't received a reply yet , but maybe it will help if other people send them an email so it is clear this isn't an isolated issue. Knowing how they've dealt with these issues previously though, I wouldn't get my hopes up for them fixing it.

Although the setup complains that N-trig hardware isn't detected likely because the hw in the XT3 is the newer generation , I extracted the files in the same way. After modifying the inf file such that Windows would try using the drivers with our hardware I got the drivers to run this worked for Windows 7. Unfortunately, on Windows 8 the driver signing seems to be more? But maybe if N-Trig goes to update only their newer hardware, we might still be able to get it to work on our machines using this trick.

I have a Dell M that just had single touch working. I installed the n-trig driver, it didn't install, bad OS version. So I downloaded from the n-trig website and extracted. Unfortunately, none of my touches were registering at all. I performed a driver Rollback for just that device, and immediately my single touch worked and now my multi-touch works as well.

Things are a little choppy, like panning, but I'm happy to have multi-touch. Hopefully n-trig will get things ironed out. They said that it would be posted at n-trig. Looks like it will only be a short wait! Is there any chance you could release some updated drivers for the Dell Latitude XT2 that will enable multi-touch in Windows 8 please? There is a lot of life left in this machine, particularly with the imminent release of Windows 8, but without multitouch a great deal of the experience is lost.

I guess there is still a bit of hope that we might have some drivers sometimes I had purchased a Dell XPS 17 multi-touch laptop in hopes that I would be able to test Windows 8 first and I am still waiting to try Metro's touch experience I think this is a huge miss from for the Windows 8 Consumer Preview launch for not ensuring that the drivers are ready for their key hardware partners.

I installed the new drivers on my hp tx2 and they work very well so far! I also have four-point touch working now. Like erothvt, I also had to run the full Windows 7 installer to update the firmware before I got the multi-touch working. Actually, I had run the Win8 installer first, but I did not have to run it again after the Win7 installer to get the mult-touch working. Go figure. My Dell XT2 had 1 touch working with the Vista version.

I tried to run the Ntrig Win 7 32 bit to upgrade as suggested by erothvt, but it failed to install right at the start. Again on XT2. Very smooth. Two minor nits: 1, touch doesn't work at the OS choice screen. But I can live with that.

System-Window shows me one-touch as active.. Does anybody have an idea for a solution? I had the same problem with my tx2. The solution is to re-install the full Windows 7 drivers in order to update the firmware. You don't need to run Windows 7 to do this, just download the drivers from N-Trig if you don't already have them and run the installer in Windows 8.

At the end of the install, you'll need to reboot and then you should have multi-touch working. It is possible that you may need to re-install the Windows 8 version of the drivers after you've done the Win7 version.

I did not have to myself; multi-touch began to work right after the reboot at the end of the Win7 install. The link to downloading the bundle is as follows:. After resuming to Win8, download the drivers for win8 and the issue should be solve. Office Office Exchange Server. Not an IT pro? Resources for IT Professionals.

If so, Windows can automatically search for the latest drivers if you right click the "Unknown device" and search for the latest drivers available and it should be working again.

Ahhhh, so sorry, are you using 32 bit Win7 , I didn't read very carefully and a Beta driver is available now to download from the page I linked you to in the previous post Edited by shakeyplace Monday, May 4, AM. Also - for future reference your multitouch is the exact same hardware as on the Dell Latitude XT2, the drivers are interchangable exact same hardware ID , so if one releases the driver first or one ever updates the driver and the other doesn't, don't hesitate to use Dell's for the XT2!

Thanks, I'll be adding myself to their mailing list. As of now, I went back to vista temporarily , and took the SwSetup folder to get he drivers, and it worked, although, the digitizer works exactly the same as vista I hope they have both multi-touch and pen working properly, the beta drivers as to what I know only supports multi-touch I haven't tested the beta drivers, so I'm just gonna wait for the official ones for now. Wednesday, May 6, AM. I would try but I don't want to risk just yet. So, I'll just wait for the official ones to come out.

The vistandrivers work fine, although no real multi-touch Tuesday, June 15, AM. Windows 7 Ultimate Regards George. Tuesday, August 24, PM. Very good stuff. ED: This is cool: you can use the rotate gesture in Firefox to cycle between your open tabs. ED2: Found another cool thing: Paint supports multi-touch now, so you can draw with up to 10 different fingers simultaneously.

Messages: 15 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 6. Quick question: Does the pen work? I know it didnt in the previous driver version. My tx2z is supposed to ship on the 11th and I'm excited to through win7 and opensuse eventually on it. Messages: 42 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: Awesome, thanks for the quick response. Messages: 63 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: Woah, when did these particular drivers come out?

Are these the same as the ones that were there originally and got removed?
